    Briggs & stratton charging
    I have replace my 10.5 briggs with a new engine a 13 horse brigg and the charging system on the old one had one wire and the new one has two wire how do I connect this new set up

    Hi lippy, does your machine have ligths.. most of these charging systems have 2 out puts. One AC for lights & one DC for charging. Don't know which motors you have but if you go to the briggs site you should be able to see which wire is which. Mike

    Hi,
    I gather your old engine had a round(barrel-shaped) connector. This is a low amperage connector and if you look you should see a bulge in the wire where the diode is encased. Your new connector is probably rectangular with two yellow wires going to it. This is a AC connector and requires a separate rectifier. If it has a red and a yellow wire then the previous answer is correct, though that configuration has not been sold in years.
