I had been in a relationship with someone for 6 years (3 of which we lived together). During that time it was never a perfect relationship and we had problems. I recently left a job I didn't like and instead of making him pay the entire rent I decided to move out to live with a friend until I could get a new job and get another aprtment. I knew my ex could never afford the apartment so I told him I thought this was best for us financially. One week after I moved out we had lunch and he told me it wasn't going to work. He told me it was my fault for leaving a job the way I did. While I know it wasn't the best thing to do I also tried to do what was right for our relationship and not put more strain on it. Now three months after that I have a new job and I've signed on a better apartment. My ex informed me he is moving to Florida for a few months to get away.

He is the kind of ex who says hi to me everyday on IM... tells me what he's eating.. what he's doing... etc. etc.. Should I start the no contact at this point? Since I know he's leaving in about a month for Florida I see no reason to try to get back with him but its so hard. He's visiting Florida this week for Thanksgiving and I haven't called him or sent any messages to him there (he hasn't either which really upset me). I just hate him for making me feel bad for leaving a terrible job. I didn't make him pay for things.. I moved out until I could get something better (when in a real relationship shouldn't your partner help support those hard times? ).

I'm just confused about how to proceed at this point. I'm hurting and he isn't!

This isn't about a job I don't think, but your not communicating, and working together.

If a partner did that to me after all that time together, I would be out of their life for sure.

He is hurting, but is moving beyond it, and so should you.
