Hi, scattergood7!
That would and could depend on a number of factors, most of which would be determined by a court and possibly a social service organization.
Would you care to tell us some specifics as to what has happened here and why you're asking the question, please?
Thanks!

Is he (assuming it's a male) charged or convicted? If he has a child in my area this is addressed at arraignment. I've seen fathers forced to leave the marital residence and I've seen no contact orders when children are involved, until the matter is tried.
Has the other parent made any type of attempt to limit visitation or has the Court addressed the issue in any way?

Most likely the person will get supervised visits unless proof of some reason, was this the child that was molested ? If so that may be enough cause to stop any visits.

I agree that if it was his son that was molested, then normally, all contact would cease in most jurisdictions of which I know.

In NY if ANY child were molested the molester can (and probably will) be ordered to stay away from ALL children - his own, his relatives' children, neighbors - and ordered out of the marital home.

Hopefully, we'll have more specifics and the location where this occurred, from scattergood7 sometime. That would be helpful.

I have young son who lives with a convicted sex offender! Missouri law has nothing on the books that prohibits a child molester living under the same roof as a child molester. This man abused is biological 4yr. Old daughter and 6yr. Old step-son, and then a few years later, my ex-wife married him anyway!! Now my son is at risk, and nobody seems to care! The media won't do any stories on the subject, and CPS (Child Protective Services) won't do anything until the child initiates the abuse...
So you see, we think that we have laws that protect children, but really we don't! My son doesn't stand a chance in this house, and I have no contact with him via phone, letter, e-mail or etc... I even have a divorce decree that states when I see my child, but you have to have money to enforce the decree!!
When you run out of money to try and see your child, guess what? Your visitation rests in the hands of ex-spouse... So, basically I pay a lot of money EVERY month for a child I don't get to see or hear from, and the child molester gets to live in the same house with him and play daddy with my hard earned money... Isn't life fair??
