    CFL's and ceiling fans
I bought 3 ceiling fans at home depot all Hampton Bay brand. Till then I had never heard of an intermediate bulb.
At a website I just came from several people were stating the built in dimmer and fan speeds would burn out if CFL's were used in ceiling fans. Is this true??

The CFL's must be dimmable. Not all are.

    It depends.

If you are talking about remote fans, you will have to use dimmable CFLs. If they are not remote fans, any CFLs are fine.

Do they make dimmable candelabra base CFL's?

Hi. I live in a 28 yr old condo, and the strata corp is thinking of installing photocell lighting along with a new timer (the current one doesn't work). Bought 3 Hampton Bay ceiling fans all with remotes. Each used in a separate room. The fan in one room will turn the fan in another room off or on when it is not suppose to. There are 5 little keys in the remotes that I believe can control the fan but we did not keep the books to see how to change...
