    Clean Cloudy Headlights
    How do you clean cloudy or foggy headlights?

    There is a product called Blue Majic which is sold at checker auto parts (checker, shucks, kragen, & O-Reilly auto parts) which will clean the road grime off head light lens' it sells for about $5.99.

    You can polish them with auto glass polisher.

    Do they have that chalky feeling and seem to have adull film on them? If so, you probably won't be able to repair them. I have bought the stuff that is supposed to polish them up but it didn't work. I ended up ordering a new set off the internet. Don't bother going to the dealer, they'll rip you off big time.

    Let me ask you a question first: are they cloudy from the inside or from the outside?
    If they are cloudy from the outside, there are many products available.
    If they're cloudy from the inside, that's trickier. The lamps need to be removed from the vehicle and all the bulbs removed. Next step is to mix a quality glass cleaner with distilled water. Pour that into the lamp housing and roll it around till all lense surfaces are clear, then pour the stuff out of the lamp and allow to dry completely before putting back into service. This works best on newer vehicle that have high-intensity discharge lights, but only works for a while and then may need to be done again.

    No offence Captain. I should have said that the dealer will charge you between 2 and 3 times as much as a jobber will and the quality will still be very good. You will even have the choice of several colors of backgrounds, halo, xenon, etc. Retail price does not mean dealer price or the only price for new parts. I'm not lying. Go to Xtralights.com and see for yourself. I'm sorry if I offended the dealers out there, but I just wanted to let the guy know what I found when I had the same problem as him.
