Rude neighbors have too many cars?
New neighbors have too many cars, we live in a four complex apartment with one assigned parking in back, and we each have an extra car each which we all park them out front. Our new neighbors moved in with three cars, which wasn't a big deal at first. Just more competition for parking but now it looks like their boyfriends moved in, adding two more cars to their list, and just recently another new car by one of the boyfriends. Which makes it six cars now, every time we leave they are looking out there windows giving us nasty looks, and snaking and saving a spot for one of their other cars. Now there are five cars out front, and no parking for the rest of the neighbors including ourselves. On our street there is only parking on one side of the block, Now we've tried being polite and courtesy about the situation. Then we realized that they have something against us, which at first we had no idea what it maybe until my sister pointed out that they may have a problem with our interracial marriage, because she had a similar experience a couple of years ago. I want to solve this problem without making a scene, because it seems they enjoy snaking the available spots. My sister suggested petitioning for residential permit parking, which each house hold would receive only two parking permits. I' m open to other peaceful suggestions.

Wow sounds like my house! I would say try petitioning, its worth a try... or every time they park in your spot, or you don't have a spot do what I do.. I will park the opposite way and block all the cars friom getting out. Haha. It irritates them, but they learn to give me as a tenant, a spot. The people who live there should be able to park nearby... inform your landlord also.

I am in an interacial relationship and am due to get married next year so I understand when you say it might be an issue and I know how some people react.

Sometimes some issues are best to leave alone because there are more to life then this. I know it's an inconvience but now a days people are crazy. You've to watch out for them.

Me and my fiancé have 2 vehicles, a jeep and a car, we park one in our shared driveway. Sometimes we can park the other outside our house, if the neighbor doesn't get to it first, other times we have to park down the street or around the corner because the our neighbor have 3 vehicles and usually take the parking out front. Unless our jeep doesn't doesn't move when we have it parked out front because usually I leave the jeep and take the train and my fiancé takes the car.

I am not should that your complex can even do something because they're not taking the assigned parking spots out back but using all the street parking which can be use by anyone.

I think it's best to soap it up and when you see them looking at you, give them a smile. I am sorry about this situation but you can't always get nice neighbors.

Sometimes if you do something it might cause a bigger problem and you don't need that. Like I said eariler in my post there are a lot of crazy people out there and this problem can blow up into something bigger.

I like the idea of asking for parking stickers from the landlord. Go for it.
