1998 Honda Accord Fuel systems
I have a 1998 Honda Accord and it's starting to sputter when a load is put on it (i.e. going up a hill). It's acting like a fuel problem. To my knowledge the fuel pump has never been changed. We got the car at 99,000 miles, and now has 141,000 on it. My manual says the fuel filter is in the tank, however when I pull out the assembly I do not see it. There is also nothing in line all the way up to the fuel rail on the motor. Can someone advise me of what to do or where or not this model year class has no filter?

Sometimes car will start, sometime not. We have replaced main relay and problem still persists. Saw this as question but did not see an answer. Did anyone ever figure this out?
I just bought a 1998 honda accord and whoever owned it before me cut the posetive wire to the fule pump in the trunk and reconected it to a new wire that they ran to the ignition swicht. I heard that there was a short in the wire so how would I go about getting a new wire harness for the fuel pump...
