I have a couple living in a trailer next to my home that doesn't have power and may or may not have running water or septic correctly connected. Who do I contact other than the County Sherriff's office to have this investigated?

Here in Virginia most communities have zoning and (building) code enforcement offices that make sure buildings have the necessary structural and utility functions. It's usually the same office that issues building permits.

In most areas there is a specific Septic inspector working for the county

    There should be zonning people

There should be the health department

If there is children living there, the CPS is always a good call.

Thanks. There are no children, just a couple of late teens, early twenties who are squatting
And who have cut my fence down that I put to mark the property line.

If they are squatters, do you know who owns the trailer? If so, they need to be contacted to see if these people have permission to live there. If they don't, then the owner of the trailer needs to call the police and have them ejected for trespassing. If they are homeless, then please think again as they are probably grateful just having a roof over their head.

Have you spoken to these people to ascertain just what their story is?
