    Hampton Fan problem
    I have a Hampton Bay 5 blade fan. It is controlled by a remote. Yesterday I put on the lighgts---fine. Then I put on the fan----nothing. I can hear an engine noise but it does not move. I called and emailed the company----silence. What to do?

    If you're not able to fix the fan based on that alone, report back with answers to the questions mentioned, for example "do the blades turn freely by hand?"

    Or, just take the fan back to Home Depot for a replacement under warranty.
