Toothless Puppy!
Yesterday I noticed that my 6 month old American Foxhound puppy's tongue was wagging excessively. It would NOT stay in her mouth at all. I checked her mouth and was shocked to see only 2 baby teeth - no adult teeth. I have had several dogs and none have ever done this. Should I be worried?

I can only tell you that I would be alarmed and making an immediate vet appointment.

Hi,
I do agree with your previous answer. This should be looked at by your Vet. If you don't have one, then please get one, and make an appointment.
Best of luck.

Really good news on this one. My pound puppy (Shadow) had kennel cough when she was just a baby and this turned in to pneumonia - which turned into really BAD pneumonia.
We have recently moved to the country and I had to change vets, so this is somewhat speculation - but he said that some of the antibiotics used to treat pups can cause problems with fluoride. Then with her having to fight the infection on top of that - she just did not have enough nutrition for her teeth and in her wrestling and playing, she knocked them out. Her adult teeth are in there -- just not erupted yet. So, the long-term prognosis is good. She will probably not get as big as she would have if she had not been so deathly ill -- but she should be just fine with time.
Thanks for all the support.

Our Lhasa is now 10 months old. As a puppy we have had food available pretty much at all times, but maybe he's getting past that now, and for his weight should maybe only be fed about a cup to a cup and a half of his dog meal a day. We have been using Wysong, by the way, and it seems to have a...
