We bought a kirkland signature chest freezer by whirlpool from a neighbor, he cleaned it and his rag froze to the side of the freezer while cleaning, we brought it home, about 2 blocks, and plugged it in... nothing. We laid it down to transport it... does that have anything to do with it not working. I know when I was little, I'm now 57, you couldn't tilt fridges or freezers, does that still apply? We paid $50 for it. Model#SCF0710KQ00LO Serial # EWR1716938. Sure hope this can be remidied. We don't have a fridge yet and a freezer would really help.

I've always heard that you shouldn't lay them down because the oil runs out of the compressors and backs up in the lines. If you do lay them down, you should wait at least 6 hours before plugging them in and turning them on. Hope that helps.
