    Install new light
    I am replaceing a light in my kitchen over my island. The ceilng electrical box has 4 wires in it, a ground, a white,black and red one. The light has three wires a ground a white and a black. This is on a dimmer switch. How do I connect the new light.

    First, which wires were the old fixture connected to?
    Normal would be ground,white and black (or red).
    Not sure why you have a loose black and red unless someone wired it for 2 separate items like a ceiling fan and light?
