Day & night heater won't do anything
My day & night heater-a/c unit won't work on heat. The a/c works but the heat won't. I thought it would be the pilot light but I took the cover off and it said it was a automatic pilot. When I turn it to heat it makes a buzzing sound, and nothing happens.
Thanks,
Dustin

If I could fix your problem with the information you have given, I would be the richest man in the world. I guess what I'm saying is, I need more info. Need a place to start. Make, model, and what exactly is happening at the furnace when you turn it to heat?

Sorry, its too dark to get on the roof. Its an early 80's Day&Night Combo unit. When its turned on the pilot doesn't light it just makes a buzzing noise (eeeeeeee). This summer I put I new Honeywell digital thermostat on, but I don't know if that would be it.

Did you check all operations when you replaced your stat? I.E. heating as well as cooling?

Does it have a draft inducer? This is a small motor that pushes out burnt gas. It may be seized up, causing the unit to not fire. Are you sure the gas is turned on to the unit?

Yes the gas is on. I don't think it has an inducer. It does have a small box on the line but I believe that is the igniter? I am not very good with these things.

No offense but if you lack the mechanical knowledge to describe your equipment then you will probably not be able to repair this unit yourself.
