I am 29 years old and have been in a steady relationship with a friend of mine who is 27. We were all fine to begin with and after a while he got a job in USA andleft I realised that there was something wrong in our relationship only to find out his old girlfriend kept coming back and he was initially telling her to move on. But when she told him she was getting married, things changed and even though he was with me he kept going on about how she left him! I was lost and deeply hurt. We were very near to breaking up and then finally I learnt that past was past and things would change between us. It did, he got over her and doesn't even mention her anymore.
Now I find myself not trusting him at all! I am so insecure and am worried that what happened with his old girlfriend can happen with me too. I find myself wanting to know his every step and can't stand it when I find out he hid something from me, even if it's a minor thing that has no significance. I just lose my temper and end up fighting sometimes for days on end.
Another thing that is bothering me is that he is very close to his sister. He plans every little thing with her and even spends each holiday with her and doesn't even talk about our future although we had already planned on getting married next year.
So when I made plans to spend with him during the xmas holidays he said he had already made plans to spend it with his sister and that I had to fit around their schedule. I find this very disturbing. We haven't met in 8 months and I finally say I ll come to visit him but he asked me to change my plans instead of his! Am I expecting too much? Am I being too possessive and how do I learn to break this habit? Does this relationship have a future?
