How to Evict a family member & ex-boyfriend (Va)
I am the only one currently on the lease and my daughter and her 3 kids along with an ex-boyfriend live in my 2 bedroom apartment. No one has paid anything towards the rent and the ex has paid on the phone bill once! We don't have any type of rental agreement in writing. He has lived there less than 30 days and she moved in with me about 7 months ago. Can I give them a written letter to vacate my apartment within 5 days? I live in Norfolk, VA. Any assistance would be appreciated.:confused:

Your daughter having moved in with you for 7 months has established tenancy. This means you have to follow the rules for eviction in your area. Generally, you will need to give her a 30 day notice that you are terminating her teneancy. If she has not vacated by that time, you will need to go to court for an eviction order. |
