    Kenmore refrigerator ice maker
My Kenmoore refrigerator has an ice maker that is connected to a water line, I just defrosted it and it will not produce ice. I have checked the water line to make sure it is on, and the bar in the freezer is in the down position. Is there an on/off switch ? Or something else I'm not aware of?

Laszloaskme - Lets do this first . Check at the back of freezer where the water comes
Into the ice maker , use a flashlight so you can see good ,if you see ice therte then get your hair dryer and thaw the ice out , make sure the rod is back down . THERE IS NO OTHER SWITCH THAT NEED TO BE TURNED OFF , When you lift it all the way up it is off , Now if you don't have ice in the morning then you will have to replace the water inlet valve , it is ot the bottom in the back ( faceing back on right bottom side ;; This is easy to change to put a new one in ;; Take the model number serial number and make wiyh you to get a new water valve; If you want to you can take the old one with you . MORE THEN LIKELY THE WATER LINE IS CONNECTED UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK TO THE COLD WATER LINE :: TO TURN IT OFF , IT SHOULD BE A BRASS PIECE:: IT has a t handle on the front of it :: Turn the handle clockwise to turn the water off :: To tsake the water valve out ,
#1 - pull the fridge outt away from the wall enough to get behind it to work , #2 unplug the power cord from the receptical ;; #3 - on the bottom there is a piece that looks like cardboard cover , remove this and out out of the way , #4- unplug the two wires that is hooked to the water valve. Disconnect the water line from the valve #5- Take the screws that hold it in place out and remove the valve ;; If you have the water all the way off you can leave it set like you have irt :: Now before you go to get the new part , call sears and see if they have one ,if they don't ask who does their appliance work and get his phone number and call him to see if he has one in stock , if he don't then you will probably have to order a new one , :: When it comes in and you start to replace it put the water line back on first now puyt the anchor screws back in , hook up the wires and plug the power coprd back in , push the fridge back in place and turn the water back on and tull the rod back down so it will start making ice again ,;; I hope that I have helped you , Good luck and have a nice day and GOD BLESS ::F./B.E.
