We have 120volts coming into all the electrical outlets on a circuit, but when we plug something into an outlet it will not work. Why is this happening?

The problem is most likely an open neutral, caused by a loose or broken connection. This will require a knowledgeable electrician to troubleshoot the circuit looking for the problem connection and repair it as necessary.
