Wiring a Hampton Bay celing fan
I bought a Hampton Bay celing fan (with light) to replace a fan. The old fan was set up for one wall swittch to work the fan and the other to work the light. My house has a red, black, white and bare wire. The Hampton fan has a blue (marked light), black, white and green wire. The instruction tell me to wire the Hampton fan as follows: white to white. Black and blue to black and green to the ground. However, when I do this, the fan and light work off the same switch. I tried doing the black to black, red to blue and white to white, but then only the light works, not the fan. As best I can tell, the fan and light are not wired to work off two switches (the light and fan are pre wired by the manufacture). Any ideas?

Ok, so as I stated in a previous thread my Hampton Bay ceiling fan has the problem where the lights dim, go off, come on by themselves, or the fan turns on for no reason. The company said the model wasn't a remote model so the previous home owner installed the remote on it. I decided to...
