What is an open valve faucet?
I'm thinking about installing an instant hot water dispenser in my kitchen. Before purchasing, I've read the installation instructions and it says that the unit will only work with an open valve faucet? How can I determine if my existing kitchen faucet is an open valve faucet?

Insti-Hot units have their own faucets. However they do require a open hole in the sink or counter top to install that faucet,(see image). This requires a 4 hole sink. Now if you have a three hole steel porcelain or cast iron sink byou must mount it on the counter top but if you have a thgree hold Stainless Steel Sink a extra hole can be added with a hole punch, (see image). Good luck, Tom

Thank you! I was confused at first because this unit also has its own faucet. When I went back to the instructions after reading your response, the instructions were only for the tank installation, even though the "package deal" includes the faucet. Thanks again!
