Hello I am a mother of four.I had the minera put in me in July 2nd 2008.I had a 5 day period in that month.now I didn't have a period till nov. and its flow is light and brown and I do feel like I have pregnant systoms, such as spoting light brown, cravings, belly harding and getting bigger, sore breast, morning sickness low back pain, cramps in my back legs, tiredness, sometimes feels like there's butterflies or bubbles in my tummy.I took a at home test and it came up negative.I have been sexually active after I had it in.I also took amoxicillin and it says it affects birthcontrol.Or how can I tell it fell out? Is any of this possible? Can someone please help me?? Please and thank you.

First off, you can and need to do a self check to make sure it's still in. Use your index finger, it can go the furthest. You should still be able to feel a thin thread or wire tucked behind your cervix. If you can't feel it, and think it may have become dislodged or pushed up, you need to go get checked. Also, if you think you might be pregnant, you NEED to go to the doc ASAP. Yes it's normal to spot brown with the IUD, but the other symptoms aren't normal. Your periods should be light and easy, so the sore breasts and low back pain, belly hardening, etc, it indicative of pregnancy. The IUD blocks off your whole uterus, so having it in while you think you might be pregnant could be detrimental to the fetus. Please seek medical attention.
