Sorry to tell you, your dog is a pack animal and you are her pack. Move the pen to your bedroom, and I promise you quiet nights guaranteed by my husband and I who each have over 25 years worth of experience when it comes to this issue

As the puppy gets older, you can move her to the laundry room. We have dogs that sleep in a pen in our room, they love their pen (since we always give them a treat as soon as they get it, without exception). We've taught them that their pen is a positive place; and it has become their sleeping home. Do they still want to sleep in the bed with us, of course, given the chance; but as soon as we tap the pen (rattle it) they know it's treat time and they come running from any part of the house.

Recently we had to move the pen into the living room for a couple of weeks and they responded the same way and slept in the other room with no complaint.

So I would advise you to get her to love her pen, give her a treat each time you rattle it and she gets inside or you have to put her in, reward her. Then when she gets a little older you can move the pen to the laundry room and it will lessen her separation anxiety because the pen is her security blanket.

We went through the same thing with our great dane puppy. We kept the crate in the bedroom for a while and now that she sleeps through the night we moved the crate to another room. I sure missed my sleep for the first couple weeks though. Texas parent is right though, you have to make sure that your puppy loves the pen.

Couldn't that be bad if it chews through the sock and decides to eat all the corn meal?
