Ex gets away with everything what can I do
I have been divorced now for three years and my ex is 10,000.00 in arrears I have filed for a hair follicle test he has not done either. He owes for medical bills and I can not get help. I did live in Alabama when all this was filed. Why does he keep getting away with everything? Please help Is there a way I can file for abandonment since he does nothing to help raise my son.

You can go back to court and ask that he be held in contempt. The judge can order his wages be garnished, his license be taken away, or a couple other minor things first but if he keeps avoiding payment then he can be jailed. That would be your first step to take him back to court.

Unfortunately many deadbeat dads know how to work the system. The only thing you can do is keep going to court or the agency in charge of collecting support and keep badgering them to enforce the support order.

No, you can't file for abandonment since there is no such thing. This is a common misconception. Abandonment is a criminal charge for when a child is left without any supervision.

You may be able to use abandonment as a GROUNDS for something else, but what good do you think bringing it up will do you?
