    squealing pipes
We have a loud squealing noise from the pipes of a bathtub. Installed a new bathtub/shower diverter a month or so ago. The pipes squeal and to get the squeal to stop, we have to run the bathtub water for a moment or two and then SLOWLY turn it off. The sink faucet in the same bathroom, if opened, will also stop the squeal but the squeal returns if the faucet is closed again.

sometimes the squeal starts when the plumbing in an adjacent bathroom is used, but sometimes it seems to just start randomly.

the squeal is loud and can be heard throughout the house. Any ideas? Thanks!

Furnace squealing [ 1 Answers ]

Hi, we have an "Airco" brand furnace that dates to the 60s. It's well-maintained. However, it has just started to emit an erratic, loud squealing noise. We changed the belt (and filter) to no avail. We cannot see anywhere to add oil. Is there anything else we could try? Thanks!
