    Multimedia audio controller
Hello all, I am new here. I have lost my sound and my computer tells me that it needs the multimedia audio controller. I went to the correct part of this site and it said there was a free download of Driver Detective but now it wants me to pay $29.95 (I assume USD). How do I get the free download?

The best place to obtain virus and spyware free drivers for any hardware component is the component manufacturer's web site. However, determining the manufacturer and the correct driver can be complicated.

If you have a Dell, HP, or other name brand system, the support sections of their web sites will present a customized list of drivers relevant to your particular system by inputting a serial number, service tag, model number, or other code.
