Can owners arbitrarily use a home as a vacation rental?
We live on a walk street, with everyone in proximity. The owners of the house directly across the sidewalk have been utilizing the house as a vacation rental. There are strangers coming and going and loud parties. Our neighborhood is located in Venice, CA and is upscale. The house is also for lease and for sale. We are unable to contact the owners but have complained to the real estate agent, who says she will pass my phone # to the owners but has blown me off. I think there are zoning laws which prohibit this in my neighborhood but don't know where to look. What does one do? Thanks!

    1. is here a HOA association if so start with them.

    2. check at the court house is there any restrictions on the deed.

    3. check with the city code enforcement

    4. go to the courthouse, it will show you who the owner is, and the tax department will tell you who is paying the taxes and their address.

    5. to the real estate agent, ask them if they would prefer to be named in the law suit if they don't want to give you the name of the owner. Ok, fake threat but it often works.
