If it was thrown out it shouldn't be on your record.

Hmm, it depends on how indepth a check the company did. Normally companies look for convictions onlly. That shouldn't show up. But if they do q very in depth search they might find your arrest record.

To attempt to clear that you have to go back to the court or prosecutor that dropped the charges and ask them to have the record expunged.

What type of job that they did such a thorough search?

An arrest that was droped is nothing innocent people get arrested and either found not guilty or droped it merely means you arrested.

This is not part of almost any official police record, now there are dozens if not 100's of various background search companies, they keep private records based from newspaper records, court records and more. These types of records can not be altered since they are not official, merely public records combined by private companies.

It should not hurt any job to merely be arrested, if you were not convicted.

The police record they give out to the public only show convictions.
