I think you would do better to ask on the medical conditions board.

Basically this means that in the side segment of the left lobe of the left kidney there is a dense lesion, which most likely is a cyst.

Is it life threatening? It's hard to say until a biopsy is taken.

"in the lateral segment of the left hepatic lobe there is a l cm hypodense lesion which likely represents a cyst" In laymen terms:

Hepatic = something to do with the liver.

The liver is the largest organ in the body, weighting about 3 pounds in an adult. It has four lobes, and the left lobe is one of the two larger lobes (the other two are smaller).

The larger part of the liver is located on your right side, with a part of it (the left lobe), laying about at the middle of your midsection, extending over to your left site, overlapping part of your spleen. That part, the left lobe, is the important for you.

Lateral = means at or towards the side
Segment = a part of something

Lateral segment = therefore means, that the left end part of the liver, likely the one that overlaps the spleen.

Cyst mostly means a "fluid-filled sac".

    So, interpreting into laymen terms:

There is a 1 cm size fluid-filled sac-like structure on the left end part of your liver.

I am sorry, I cannot tell you what it is, or how serious (or not) it is, that needs further testing by your doctor. Probably CT scan, or other.

    Wish you good luck.
