Self Employment Tax for Freelance Translation
I need to know how I go about getting forms to send in taxes for freelance translation work that I do in dekalb county, Georgia. The volume is very small, but I know I should send in some type of state or local tax. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you

The forms in questions if Form 1040-ES for the federal tax and Form 500ES for Georgia.

To download Form 1040-ES, go to Internal Revenue Service.

For Form 500ES, go to Georgia Department of Revenue.

However, if the total amount of money earned to date is less than $1,000 for 2008, do not bother with estimated tax payments. You can settle up with both the IRS and Georgia without penalty when you file your 2008 tax return early in 2009.
