    Older Gas Fireplace
The home we purchased 2 years ago has a gas fireplace insert that is at least 12 years old. There is no wall switch or thermostat with which to control it by. We have to open the lower access door and manually adjust the knob on the gas regulator in order to turn it on. I'd like to install a thermostat but I cannot, for the life of me, find any millivolt posts to wire it into. There's one wire coming out of the regulator to the thermopile and one coming out to, what appears to be, an overtemp sensor. Both these wires originate from within the regulator which I don't think I can access. That's it. No other wires or wire posts other than the fan circuit which is completely separate.

Is it possible to wire a themostat into this system?

Contact the manufacturer of the appliance to see if one was available.
