Due today. Any old wives tales about induction
Im due today... I've tried castor oil and that did not work... I have been walking over a mile a day with my husband throughout my whole pregnancy and we have tried sex. Are there any old wives tales that anyone knows about that may help induce labor?

Just because you are due today means virtually nothing. I was two weeks overdue and still nothing. Went to the hospital in false labor twice that day and was sent home. Then when everyone was asleep and all comfy my water broke and we had to go back to the hospital for the third time that day. Your baby will come when he/she is ready and not before and you trying to get them here any sooner is just going to wear yourself out trying!

Seriously, just wait patiently and you'll soon have your little one in your arms. The night I had my son the nurse came in and woke me up at 2AM wanting to know if I wanted to feed my son. I told her no, you do it as I want to have at least one night's rest as I'll have the kid for who knows how many years and I can feed him then. I didn't bother to bore her about how for the past 2 days it was go to the hospital, go home, go to the hospital. I was worn out for sure. My kid didn't even interrupt my Thanksgiving dinner or the football game on Saturday during the daytime as he waited until late Saturday to arrive.

Castor oil only works when your body is already ready to have the baby. I took castor oil and 12 hours later I had my little son. It is hard but just wait. Your body knows what's up and when it is time the baby will know too. Just use this time to sleep and get laundry and journal writing and all that out of the way cause honey, it will be some time before you can do any of that. One thing that helps ripen the crevix is Evening Primrose oil. Get the good stuff at health food store and take it orally. Also you can break open the capsules and have you or your hubby apply it topically to your cervix. Remember to wash your hands first! The oil and the cervical stimulation will help out.
Just relax and keep in mind that the ultimate goal is a healthy fully developed baby. Sometimes the due dates can be wrong and you do not want to force a baby out prematurely. Trust me sleep and drink plenty of water!

It's also important to remember that you aren't "overdue" until you go passed 42 weeks. Few babies come on their due date.
As was said, nothing will work well if your body isn't ready for it. Try your best to be patient... do what you can to relax and enjoy these last few days.

Go with the flow, everywoman is different, I would sit tight and wait, when your baby is ready to enter the world he/she will. Good luck.
