    What have you done?

Go to start, run and type services.msc and hit enter

Go down list till you see Print Spooler and right click on it and hit properties

Go to the dropdown list and make sure it is on automatic, if not make it automatic and then click apply - Now click start

Close services and then try and print again

Thanks for your prompt reply but I have done that and it still didn't work. I don't even know what a print spooler system is. The printer has not been used for a couple of weeks but I don't think that should make a difference do you? I am even unable to check out any information on the printer as that message pops up when I try to do anything. Unfortunately I cannot find the disc it came with to try and uninstall and reinstall it. It is a Lexmark if that helps at all.

    print spooler services not running
This is saying that the service is not running, the information I posted above is to start the service

When you go to services and click start and then OK, what happens?
    Do you get a message?
Does is say service was started?

Click on Start or the windows icon, lower left of screen where you go to click to see programs and click Run and then type services.msc and follow above
