    Federal Prison
My husband is waiting for his sentence for federal prison here in Kansas. They are giving him a plead bargen for 10 years but he says he would only have to do 6 but he still has to go back and do his 17 months in a regular prison. Is there anyway he could get the 17 months taken off and is there anyway he could get out earlier then 6 years? Im about to have a baby in November, is there anyway he could ask to be there?

This would all depend on the charges (that you have not posted) as well as the judge involved.

His charges where possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana. This is the 3rd time he goes to prison so he don't have a good crimial record.

He can ask, they do allow travel for some events ( like funerals) but he would have to pay for all the costs, cost of transportation, cost of all the guards and so on. It costs so much almost no one ever gets it. ** assume they still do it, they used to when I worked there.

NO, actually he will be lucky to get the 6 years, that will depend on good time in prison and that can be taken away or not received depending on his actions inside.

I will say at least most of the federal prisons are nicer than the state ones. Make sure he tries hard to get a good work detail, many have a UNICOR operation and it is normally better conditions.

    Hello pay:

There isn't any "good time" in federal prison any more. If he's sentenced to 10 years, he'll DO 10 years.

If you mean "regular" prison to mean STATE prison, then NO, they won't knock off the 17 months. They won't knock it off EVEN if it's federal time. He'll serve it consecutively.

My final piece of BAD NEWS is, they ain't going to let him come to your birth... No way, no how, not in this lifetime.

PS> Possession of marijuana... Harumph... The COPS should be in prison for arresting him!!
