    Open ended deep well
Having problems getting good water from a open ended deep well that goes down to limestone. Water is clear with a hint of black in the water itself.
If you let it sit overnite then it is perfect with a little bit of rust on the bottom.(blonde sandy looking substance.)
Have had it tested by the local county health department and they said we had coliform. Didn't say what type just that chlorinating would help. We tried that and it clears up for a short time then comes back even thicker.
We had a water guy come out and test and he said we had high volume of iron(black shadow in water) and over 5ppm of sulpher. The sulpher smell comes and goes and the black(iron?) is fairly constant with the occasional spurt of a darker black.

Has anyone heard of this before ?
Is the limestone interacting with the iron and sulpher causing the black and the smell (like rotten eggs)
The water guy of course suggested a hydrogen peroxide system costing around $5000 with a yearly maintenance fee of $400-1000 per year.

He said this would take care of most of the sulpher smell and the iron but couldn't garrentee about the sulpher .

I am just helping out a handicapped person on a very limitted fixed income
    Any ideas ?

He really can't afford a new well as this one is only 5yrs old.
The problems started about 2yrs into the life of the well and had gotten worse with time.
We even had the well company who drilled the well originally come and blow the well . This helped somewhat but still having the same problem to a degree.
The static level after blowing the has changed from 100 ft to around 130ft.
The pump is pumping around 8gpm and sometimes after a hard flushing we can hear it sucking air. It never stops pumping water but flow from a hose is minimal.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated !
