    88 civic dx to si
I have an 88 civic hatch that is a dx with auto transmission that I'm wanting to bump up to a SI. I'm wondering if the wiring harness and computer would have to come out of an automatic or can I use a set from a standard?
    Thanks

When you say you want to bump up to an Si that requires swapping motors and tranny. The DX is 1.5 whereas the Si is 1.6. Either way the stock OB0 computer will work fine. And does not need to be changed.

Actually I blew the engine a year ago and ended up sticking in a 1.6 at that time. Basically I just want to swapped the throttle body injection for a multiport set up. Would the trans have to be swapped?

No, you do not need to change the transmisison. Either one (auto or stnd) will work fine.

OK just so I'm clear on what your saying is all I need is to change the intake and wiring harness, and the harness from a standerd can be used in an auto, correct?

90 civic... key won't come out [ 4 Answers ]

I have a 90 civic. During cold weather ( 50 or below) the key won't come out of the ignition for sometimes 5-10 min. In warm weather I have no troubles. I've also recently had trouble with the automatic gear shift getting it out of park. This is really frustrating because the battery runs down...
