92 honda civic possible clutch slipping
    I have a 92 honda civic lx it has 180k miles and it's a 5-speed

At about 3000 rpm or more if I push the throttle the engine speed will go up but the road speed will not increase proportionally to the engine speed so it looks about the same if not more so than when you push the gas on and automatic transmission car

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is it the original clutch? How does it behave when you take off from a dead stop? Is there any shudder or slipage? Is the friction point for the clutch really high? (that is, the pedal is almost totally let out before it starts to grab). These are signs the clutch needs replacement, or at the very least, clutch cable adjustment maybe. Good luck.

I don't believe it's the original clutch and if I drop it in first it just spins them it only behaves oddly in higher gears at higher rpms. I think the friction point might be a little high.

Clutch is slipping? [ 8 Answers ]

I have Nissan 350Z manual transmission. When I step on the gas while driving, the car instead of accelerating speed accelerates the engine speed for few seconds. Does it mean that the linig of the clutch is worn?
