    Info on rights about foreclosure as a renter
    I'm a renter in mpls mn. I was just notifed thet the property I'm renting. Is now going in to forecloser. I singed a 1 year lease last month. Now I have 4 to 6 months tell I have to move. Is the landlord in the wrong for this? Do I have the wright to go after him for braking the lease?what can I do?

    Well, you can't go after him until he actually breaks the lease. At this point it's just likely that he will if he doesn't catch up on his mortgage. Actually, legally, you have to uphold your end of the lease and keep paying rent.

    Until the day the property sells at auction or the bank takes it back the owner who leased it to you is still the owner and you still have an agreement with HIM. The day it sells or goes back he will have broken the lease, and yes, you most certainly can "go after" him for breaking the lease. You would most likely win a judgement against him, but as he can't even pay his mortgage payments I would think your chances of collecting would be slim to none.

    This is a terrible trend that's affecting many, many people in your situation. Except in CA the government has yet to step in and pass any laws that offer protection to the tenants in your situation.
