    Give sex a rest?
In the past, I have taken ovulation tests to find out if I was ovulating. I did it right as soon as I woke up when I knew I was getting close. And even at that, me and my fiancé are very sexually active anyway. As soon as it said I was ovulating I went for the kill. We had sex several times a day within the next few days prior. Should we give I a rest and let him build up or what? My friend told me you were guaranteed to get pregnant if you have done this and I have done it over eleven months with keeping track of my ovulation, and its still not happening. Maybe one day I can pos and tell everyone I finally got pregnant! But for now, I'm counting on everyone's best advice! Thanks soooo much:) I look forward to hearing from some caring people

I've HEARD that the sperm count is higher if you wait a few days. But like I said, I heard- (for any 'disagreements')
Honestly, if you asked a doctor or did a bit of internet research you could probably find out pretty quick.

It isn't necessary to have sex several times a day and it can make sex start to feel like a chore for some couples if it gets too regimented. Every other day is fine and maybe a few more sessions the few days prior to when you think ovulation is likely to occur would be sufficient timing wise, but there is more to it than just timing.

Some reproductive endocrinologists now feel that unless there is a definite sperm count issue, having sex every day for a few days prior won't effect count enough to be an issue and may in fact provide for better quality sperm to be present when ovulation occurs. Given the viability of an egg and how long the majority of sperm will survive, going too many days between can cause you to miss out in regard to timing.

Unfortunately, pregnancy is never a guarantee... quality of the egg that is released, whether you actually ovulated that cycle, quality of the sperm, conditions of the vagina at the time, etc. all play a role, and any one variable being off can be enough to prevent a pregnancy in any given cycle.

Since you have been keeping track of ovulation and trying for almost a year, you might want to consider seeing your doctor and discussing it. They may decide to start some basic testing, or may have you try several more months first. Often after about a year of trying without success, doctors will consider testing both partners.
