Geothermal heating and cooling bryant vs carrier
Hi! I am having geothermal heat/cooling put in. In my proposal, it lists- and I paid for a Bryant GTP-50YDVO49JCB301 4 ton forced air heat pump w/desuperheater and a Bryant GS-W O601CFCS 5 ton hydronic heat pump to be installed. Yesterday, a Carrier 50YDV049JCB301 was brought in. I noticed the model numbers are the same as the bryant one listed above. When I asked the guy, he told me that I was lucky because the wrong one came in and that I was getting more WATTS than I was supposed to, which confused me. Can anyone tell me if I am getting the same thing and if I am getting the same quality as I paid for? Also, if I AM getting more WATTS, what in the heck does THAT mean? Thanks!

Bryant and Carrier are the same thing. Made on the same assembly line. Parts are interchangeable. The only difference is the nameplate. If you were to notice the packaging, there is usually a perforated cutout where the nameplate is... reason for this is so they can put the correct plate on depending on which you ordered.

The distributor where we buy our Carrier/Bryant equipment they have boxes of nameplates for this very reason.
