I am a good girl and I always run my AVG and Spybot! I even defragged about a week ago and do disk clean ups often. I never have any problems. I moved into a new place on the first of October. During the day I had Media Player going as we were listening to music to make the move in more enjoyable. I knew that Telus wasn't coming to hook up the internet until the third but on the second I decided to see if there was anyone in wireless range to me. Sure enough there was. I connected to their internet and all seemed fine. Suddenly my computer froze. I should mention here that I was messing around with my internet connection settings as well as my wireless settings. The freezing is terrible! Nothing responds! No mouse, no keyboard, no control/alt/delete, and the screen is obviously frozen as well. The only way to shut her down is by holding the power button. This happens all the time now. I am terrified it may happen during the time it takes me to ask this question, making me type it again. It can be five minutes or five hours from now. IT FROZE HERE! I had to take a screen shot with my camera phone and retype it all!!! Now I have it saved as I go along in a Note Pad document lol. Anyways...it can freeze at my log in screen, or on my desktop, or while surfing the net, or reading a document, it really doesn't seem to matter. I have run everything I have already mentioned (which has been a pain since it freezes during the time it takes to run checks and I have to restart and try again). I have tried Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal as well. I have a good computer, amazing video card, good RAM, lots of space, fans to keep things cool, etc. I have no idea why this is happening and all of the sudden too!!! Telus came on the fourth instead of the thrird and I have their internet working now, but it is all still going on and driving me bonkers. I thought it may be something to do with my wireless program and Telus wireless program interfering since it was really the only new thing I have going on. I uninstalled both and only reinstalled the wireless stuff and it's still happening!!! ARG! :(

I will end this now as I don't want to write it all again. I will provide more info as needed. Thank you in advance for anything in the way of help that you can offer me!

Please stop using light purple fonts. This isn't a chat room, straight black is friendly and helpful in the posts themselves, OK? Do that fancy stuff in your signature if you wish.

Try the simplest solution first - do a system restore back a month or two to a time when the system was working perfectly.

START > PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > System Restore

Wow you are very rude. Your solution, as obvious as it is, wouldn't help because I didn't have internet hooked up then and I would need to do that anyways. The problem would only happen again. I think I have figured it out by enabling and disabling network stuff and will leave this site as I don't wish to be spoken to the way you just have. So sorry the colours of my font have made you so hostile. Farewell

Hehe... O... K. That was pleasant. At least I said, "please"... oh well. Fare thee well, internet maiden.

BTW, as obvious as my suggestion was, I hope you still give it a whirl since it may absolutely solve the issue.

Emotional overreaction aside, I really do want to see your issue resolved. Take care.
