91 honda civic has trouble starting
My 91 honda civic has trouble starting. It sputters, stalls, etc. then all of a sudden the check engine light comes on and it appears to idle just fine. When I step on the gas the engine reaves up. When I turn the car off, everything repeats itself when I try to start the car again. I try to get a code reading but the check engine light is not on the next time I go to start the car.

What's wrong. How do I fix this?
