    Too much scratching!
My cat has a tendency to scratch things, and I don't mind it... when it's on his "condo". I leave my shoes in my closet generally and he seems very fond of scratching my old navy flip flops, and only those shoes. I have many types of flip flops, but he only goes after those ones. Yes they were cheap, but they are still shoes that I like to wear. I've tried hiding them from him and I've tried putting them on shelves and so on. Yet, he always get a hold of them and tears them up. It's really getting on my nerves. What should I do!

This website gives some tips Cat Scratching Solutions. I like the one about two sided tape ! I have good luck with a spraybottle of water.

You think you had a problem. I use to come through the house in early morning and see my young cat Pickle, hanging from the wall, really high up. It scared the bejesus out of my one morning cause I didn't know what it was! It was a treat seeing her come down the same way she got up. By the way, that wallpaper is long gone (for obvious reasons).
