    violation of civil rights
    Hi,
I am writing on behalf of my 60 year old sister.Police office came to her door on the 19th Sept.Told her to come outside. They told her it was to have her evaluated. The officer whipped out a piece of paper. She could not read it as she did not have her reading glasses on.She said that they read her her rights as she was placed over the back of the cruiser and cuffed. She was put in the back seat of the cruiser. They sped off to the courthouse with the lights and siren going. She had asked about making her phone call. She was placed in lockup for several hours. She had asked again about making a call. She met with an attorney and physiciatrist. This doctor said that she was a danger. Was transferrred to hospital, where she was placed in a locked room.Asked several times about her phone call.Spent the night and the next day undergoing tests.Transferred to a mental hospital that afternoon/night.We were told she would be there for a min. of 7-10 days.I called the police dept that took her ou t of her home, told them that I wanted to get a copy of the complaint/report of why this happened and who did it.Was told by the police dispatcher that I had to go to the Courthouse to get that info.I went to the courthouse, was told by the clerk that she wouldn't give me anything and that the conmplaint had been dropped and the case closed. She provided me with the name and number of the doctor that was present in the court room.
I went up to visit my sister right after leaving the courthouse.Talked withher and the case manager and wanted to know why she was still there. At that point she gave my sister a "3-day notice" to fill out and sign.Said that it tells this place (mental hospital) that they have 3 days in which to do an evaluation. If not done at the end of three days my sister could walk.Paper was filled out on Monday I picked my sister up Wednesday morning.
My sister is not a danger, had volunterily underwent a physiciatric evaluation by not one but 2 Forensic Physiciatrists. She has proof that she is as sane as you or I.She underwent the voluntary evaluations months ago.
As of 10-1-08 we have retrieved copies of the file from the courthouse. However, there are several papers that are enclosed that do NOT have any date-time stamps-signatures of the police or judge.
We believe she was set up by several people-because her one grandson has been and is still being aboused by the daughter-in-law.There is a 99% chance that drugs are involved.
Does any one know of an attorney in the Quincy, Ma area?
