    Bank Accounts garnished today
My bank accounts, both personal and business, were garnished today to satisfy a foreign judgment (I'm in PA; plaintiff is from NJ). The judgment was originally $15,000 (maximum small claim in NJ); the levy is for $17,828.44 (post judgment interest and fees from 1/8/2008?) The total monies in both accounts was approximately $1300. What can they do next?

This means they have both a business or personal judgement, and/or your business is not incorporated.

If you are an employee somewhere they may garnish your wages. They may attempt a lien on you home if you own one, depending on the state.

My business IS incorporated and my business account is in my corporation name. My name DOES appear on my checks as the legal signer. The judgment was against me personally, although she most properly should have sued my corporation. I do own a home which is fully mortgaged, with no intent to sell.
