My daughter doesn't have a uterus
My 8 year old daughter has been diagnosed with precocious puberty, meaning she is going through puberty too early for her age. We have been trying to find the sourse of the extra hormones, and have had ct scans, blood work and an ultrasound. During the ultrasound, the tech could not see her uterus or left ovary. She called in assistance and he couldn't find them either. Her primary care doctor tells me not to worry and she may just be born without them. We go to a hormone specialist in November, and maybe he will find them, but I have just been left very uneducated and confused by this vague information. She has a twin sister, and I don't know if I should get her checked also. I know this is heard of but how do you really deal with this and what kind of questions do I ask the doctor when I go to see him?

No, THANKFULLY she has not went there yet. However, she has all the other signs, body odor, hair growing, skin changing... these are all things that prompted me to make her the initial appt with her pediatrician. I work at a hospital and ask around, but nobody seems to have an answer for me.

Nikki, if she does not have a uterus, she will not get a period, nor, unfortunately, will she be able to bear children. You see, it is our uterine lining that we shed each month that causes our periods. It is within our uterus that the fetus grows into a baby.

You really need to get a second opinion.
