Fridge not staying cold all the time
I have a 2000 Danby Refrigerator # DFF8200W. Starting about a month ago I noticed it wasn't staying as cold inside as before. This went on for a week & then got cold again. A few days later it started to warm up inside again. Since then it has gone from cold to warm & back to cold again three times. Now it's warm again. Does anyone have any ideas?

If this is one of those self defrosting models then the defrost timer switch has gone/going bad on you and needs replaced.

It is self defrosting. Do you know where is this switch located?

You'll have to get the schematic of the machine off the net and call your local appliance parts store to see if part is in stock. If you have a multi tester and know how to use it, you can test this part and if it tests bad, that's the problem. If this part tests good, then obviously it is not the problem and is something else.

By the way, how are things in Dullsville? I got a chuckle on that location. I'm in Nothinghappenshere, Ohio

It needs a new thermostat, ring up a repairer and give him the model details.
It will only take about 1/2 an hour to repair and about $100. :-)

I did find the switch & it's bad. Thanks for the help. Things are pretty dull here in dullsville. I live outside of a small town of 600 so there isn't a whole lot of excitement that goes on around here.

My fridge does not get cold [ 1 Answers ]

My kenmore side by side fridge won't get cold. The freezer has some ice built up on the back wal and keeps things cold as if they were in the fridge side. The fridge side doesn't keep anything cold at all. What could this problem be?
