    CA law - legal time frame to return rental deposit.
    What is the time frame under California real estate law for a "roommate" or a landlord to return a security or pet deposit? {e-mail removed-<>} Thank you.

    In CA, they must provide a refund or an accounting of how the deposit was used within 21 days of your relinquishing the premises.
