    Bad back and now spasms
    Hey,

I had posted a question regarding my back earlier, but things have just gotten worse and I need advice on what specialist I need to go to. At about 5 o'clock today, I was sitting, leaning over doing my nails, when I got a massive spasm in my lumbar. It caused me to jerk to the left twice, and then I fell back on the bed and couldn't get up for an hour. While I was laying down, I could feel spasms in my left leg down to the knee, right leg in the thigh, and all the way up my chest muscles to my jaw. A similar incident had happened earlier when I was sitting on the floor and leaned over to get some shoes. That time, I was able to get up, but I had pronounced weakness on my left side. Right now, I am able to walk but still have a lot of weakness and pain on my left side. I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Go to the emergency room and they will probably have a back specialist available, or on call. I don't know if insurance will cover it but it should be checked out.
