    Judgement for doctor bills
    I am disabled with soc. sec. my only income.I am being sued for unpaid doctor bills.Can they take my assets or garnish my bank account?

    Depends on the State - they cannot take money directly from your SS check.

    They CAN file a lien against your property and/or car (and possibly seize the auto but almost no one wants to get involved with that) and in most States if you have co-mingled funds (something in the bank mixed in with your SS), they can freeze and take the entire account.
