PVR Plus for recording video from VCR to hard drive
I have downloaded PRV Plus V Stream from the installation disc. My purpose is to record a video from my VCR to my hard drive, then transfer it from that to a DVD through Nero or Roxio. I have run the V Stream cable with the V Stream gizmo from the VCR to the PC. On screen I get a TVR (don't know what that means) screen that says it is live and recording. I assume it is to be from TV but I do not have a TV card in my PC. I run the VCR tape but see nothing.
I do not understand the directions from their user manual. I believe it is supposed to capture from any analog source but it is unclear how to do that.
Is there anyone here who uses this PVR Plus and could inform me what to do? Thanks.

TO record from a VCR into your computer will require a video capture device... that's a piece of hardware... added to your computer.

VCRs use RCA jacks (red/white for audio, yellow for video) or coax, and computers don't come with those jacks. You have to add them.

Most video capture cards COME with decent software, so the thing you downloaded probably won't be needed.

Do you know the difference between hardware and software? You can download software (programs) off the internet. You have to buy hardware in a box, take it out of the box and stick it into or onto your computer. Hardware is a physical thing.

Have bought a piece of hardware with input jacks that match the output jacks on your VCR? How is the VCR currently connected to your computer?
