What are the chances of a judge allowing me to marry with parental consent?
I'm sixteen, almost seventeen and my boyfriend just turned eighteen. I'll be seventeen in three months and we both want to get married very badly. I know the law in California is that you have to have at least one parent that will sign consent and then you need to meet with a councilor and then finally, meet before a judge.
What are the chances that the judge will allow us to get married when I'm seventeen and he is 18 if my mom signs consent.

What does the judge have to consider or think about and how long does it take?
Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Sadly most likely if your mom will sign, they will issue you a marriage license, the judge marries anyone with a license, so it is the clerk of the court that issues the license that you have to meet all of the needed requirements.

Now of course if you are that "deeply" in love, you will still be in love 2 or 5 years from now, so waiting till you are out of high school, and he has either went to tech school or college where you can have a better life. Since true love will last, there is no rush.

    Hey yvonnebelinda17,

Well why don't you get married in Vegas? You do need parental consent but once your parent signs that paper your free to get married in Vegas. That's how I got married, I was 17 and my husband was 21. Now I would say that if you have the chance to wait, wait. My marriage is not bad it is actually a happy one but sometimes we do have big problems which sometimes make you think why did I get married? But then you realize that is how a marriage is. Your going to have problems whether you like it or not. And it's better that you guys get married first, if you don't want to wait then to get pregnant and run off with him. At least that's what my parents appreciated. That he asked for my hand first before getting pregnant. So you decide and do what you think is best. Good Luck on whatever you decide!

If your mom signs gives you consent then you can get marry with no questions.

In Vegas if your under 18 you still need a parent or guardian approval and will need to provide parental consent either in person or with an original, notarized statement of consent written in English In addition, your parents or guardian will need have a court order authorizing the marriage.
